Company Chameleon joins the Arts Council England National Portfolio,
We are delighted to confirm that Company Chameleon will receive National Portfolio funding from Arts Council England from 2012-2015. This investment will support both our artistic vision and our company’s development; supporting us to create and tour work both nationally and internationally, bring new audiences to dance through our outdoor performances, support emerging choreographers through residency programmes and expand our education programme to work with young people across Greater Manchester.
This news comes in the context of wholesale cuts to the arts and public sectors and we will continue to work with colleagues and partners to advocate dance as an inherent and vital part of society.

Chol Theatre & Sheffield Hallam University – Extraordinary Moves,
Company Chameleon’s recent collaboration with Chol Theatre and Sheffield Hallam University was a successful and enjoyable week for all involved. Company Chameleon also participated in a Lab Sharing day on Friday 18th Feb in Sheffield which enabled all the participants of Extraordinary Moves to share what they had discovered in the week 7th – 11th Feb 2011.
Extraordinary Moves has involved major dance participatory research, performance and training workshops that have brought together an inclusive team of disabled and non-disabled artists, scientists and sports people to explore how our bodies provide both limitations on, and a starting point for physical and creative expression in everyday life.
In June 2011, A Night of Extraordinary Moves will be a celebration of this process in the form of a one night only dance event at the Lawrence Batley Theatre.
