Company Chameleon honoured to perform at NSCD 30th Anniversary Gala

8 May 2016

We’re exciting to be going back to our roots this weekend as we return to the Northern School of Contemporary Dance in Leeds.

15 years after graduating, Kevin Edward Turner will perform Push, our powerful and sensitive duet, with company dancer Theo Fapohunda, a former apprentice of the NSCD programme. This performance is part of a special Alumni Gala on 29 May to mark 30 years of inspiring dance education.

With only four dancers and dance companies invited to perform at the celebration, we feel very honoured to be part of the event. We will be joined by; Namron (Teacher, choreographer and founding member of NSCD teaching staff until 2000), Crystal Zillwood (NSCD graduate 2013) and 2Faced Dance Company (founded in 1999 by NSCD graduate Tamsin Fitzgerald).

Kevin shared his thoughts ahead of the celebratory performance:

I am delighted that the company has been invited to perform at the 30th anniversary of the NSCD. Anthony (Missen, co-Artistic Director) and I trained at the NSCD and the conservatoire was the launch pad of our professional careers. The company’s first performance was at the Riley Theatre and we continue to work in partnership with NSCD, delivering the postgraduate apprenticeship scheme. We look forward to the performance and our continued relationship. Happy anniversary!”
