Announcing Scratch Night

9 February 2020

Calling all makers, it’s time for our first ever Scratch Night to be presented on Friday 27 March, 7:30pm.

Company Chameleon are looking for submissions from dance makers for Scratch Night, a unique opportunity for dance artists and choreographers to present their work in front of a friendly audience and see other work that’s emerging from the region and beyond.

Presented in a supportive environment, artists will share their work and receive feedback through a Q&A with our Co-Artistic Director and other regional artists.

Sam Broadbent, Learning & Participation Manager, said: “It’s an exciting time for dance in the region, with a growing number of dance artists choosing to stay and live here. We’re really happy to be supporting this growing network and Scratch Night is an opportunity to bring everyone together and celebrate the breadth and quality of the work that’s being created in the region. Our aim is that this is the first of many scratch nights at Chameleon Studios.”

At Company Chameleon, we’re committed to raising the bar for dance in the region, and for us, this means building a community of dance artists with different voices, histories and stories. Scratch Night is an exciting opportunity to be part of this growing community, be inspired by other dance artists and celebrate dance in our shared home of Greater Manchester.

If you’re interested in being part of the night, this is what we’re looking for…

-Dance works in all stages of development (new, works in progress, extracts of completed works)
-15 minutes in length or less
-Whilst not exclusive, applicants from Greater Manchester are encouraged to apply

Deadline to apply is Sun 1 Mar 2020.
All applicants will be notified by Fri 6 Mar 2020.

Please note: There is no fee to present work. This is an informal presentation and will not include any production or technical support.
