‘Day in the life’ of a Chameleon

Then our new ‘Day in the life’ experience is an opportunity to immerse yourself in company life and find out what it’s really like to work as a professional dancer and in an arts organisation.
Learning & Participation Officer, Amber Calland said, “We’re so excited to have developed this offer! It’s an opportunity for young people to deeply connect with the Company and ask the questions they otherwise may not have chance to.
It’s a wonderful opportunity to engage with the whole team, develop your knowledge and leave feeling inspired and excited about your future!”
Designed for schools, colleges, and university groups, students from Edge Hill University were the first to join us for the experience. At the end of the day, students said:

The ‘Day in the life’ experience includes:
Company Class
The days starts with professional level class led by our Company Dancers. Class is an opportunity to experience Chameleon’s unique movement style and prepares both body and mind for the day ahead.
Professional Workshop
The bespoke workshop is themed around one of Chameleon’s professional works, and is an opportunity to learn repertoire and explore the show’s themes through improvisation and creative tasks.
Company Rehearsals
As students watch the the Company rehearse one of our touring works in the studio, students learn about our creative process and join in through physicalising some of the movement being rehearsed.
Pathways Q&A
An interactive Q&A session with the Chameleon team presents the opportunity to find out more about the different roles in the Company, routes into a career in the arts and so much more.

By providing real life insight into life as a professional dancer and a career working in the arts, we hope to inspire, inform and open young people’s eyes to the possibilities and creative pathways available to them.”
