Chameleon is committed to raising the bar for dance in the region, which means nurturing and supporting a diverse community of Dance Artists with different voices, histories and stories. The programme celebrates this commitment.
In this Autumn’s line up, we’re offering a number of exciting opportunities to develop your creative practice.
OPEN FLOOR
Join us for a night of live improvised music and dance in collaboration with University of Salford and Low Four Studios.
What to expect:
Taking place in spaces across the city, Open floor is a space to play, share and connect. Dancers are invited to respond to live improvised music and musicians, responding to each other and the dancers in the space. Open Floor is a space to meet, jam and collaborate across artform.

COMPANY CLASS
Push forward your practice in our professional level class.
What to expect:
If you’re a professional dancer this is a fantastic free opportunity to push forward your practice in high quality classes, which engage a mix of movement styles, focuses and techniques.
The well-rounded training programme is led by an outstanding teaching team, including our Co-Directors, Company Dancers, Associate Artists and local artists from our home of Greater Manchester.

Develop your skills beyond the studio as a Dance Artist who means business!
What to expect:
We understand that being a dance maker is not just about perfecting your craft; it’s about learning how to present it, fund it and take it out in the world!
Our carefully curated autumn programme features four events designed to empower you with a comprehensive set of skills and tailored support for every stage of your creative journey.
Guided by industry professionals, workshops focus on lighting for dance, building a brand, finding and funding work as well as how to approach venues to perform!

Join us for a performance triple bill featuring new commissions from some of the North West’s most exciting Dance Makers!

This November, we’re proud to share three new works in progress made by this year’s UPLIFT Artists, who have been in residence at our home studio this Autumn. Join us to see new work, support local artists and feedback on their work so far!

STUDIO SPACE
We’re thrilled to announce the launch of both our GM Artist Studio Hire Rates and Standby Studio Space programme.
What to expect:
A converted schoolhouse with original features and a welcoming atmosphere, Company Chameleon has four dance studios available to hire. Based in Openshaw, Company Chameleon is close to Manchester city centre and is within walking distance to Gorton train station. We offer free and secure car and cycle parking. We offer specially curated rates that support both independent dance artists/companies as well as local community groups.
