Dance in Libraries

11 October 2018

Illuminate, is our site-specific production for libraries, commissioned by Manchester City Council as part of Library Live, Manchester Central Library’s cultural events programme.

Back in November 2017, Illuminate was performed at Manchester Central Library, by a rich ensemble of 60 international dancers, musicians and collaborators and which also featured performances by Chameleon Youth, Edge Hill University and University of Salford students.

Following the Manchester Central Library performance, an adapted version of the work then went on to tour to 3 smaller Branch Libraries in North, Central and South Manchester. In addition to the performance, the Company also delivered a series of workshops within the Branch Libraries fostering our continued investment of bringing high quality dance experiences to disadvantaged communities.
