Boys Dancing

2 October 2018

As advocates of boy’s dance, Company Chameleon have a wealth of experience in delivering boys dance projects, working in schools, colleges, youth venues, community settings, PRU’s, prisons and more. We also regularly offer Teacher CPD and INSET training with a focus on how to engage boys in dance activity.

An example of our previous experience in delivering boy’s dance project work is STRIDE. Presented by Dance Manchester in partnership with Company Chameleon, STRIDE was an annual performance project which aimed to get young men dancing! Since its launch back in 2009, this project introduced thousands of young men, aged 10-20, to contemporary dance and physical theatre.

Speaking of STRIDE, Dance Manchester say: “The project brought together local young males & introduced them to dance as a high-quality art form, giving the participants the space to explore their own creativity & physicality. For the majority of the boys, it was the first time they have engaged with dance & performance art – with many having danced for the first time at our school outreach stage, just 2 months prior to the performances”
