Company Chameleon is delighted to welcome David Colley on board as our new Company Dancer.
Dave’s history with the Company goes back to when he was in youth dance. Back in 2011, Dave was a member of the male youth dance company, Fuzzy Logic in Southampton, and performed a curtain raiser choreographed by Anthony & Kevin.
Years later after graduating from London Contemporary Dance School, Dave came on board as a post graduate apprentice dancer and upon completion began touring with the company as a freelance dance artist.
Over the last couple of years, Dave has been heavily involved with the delivery of our education and outreach work and has taken on various choreographic projects. This includes the making of his own curtain raiser performance for Chameleon Youth, which was performed as part of the Company’s production of 10.
On being appointed in this role, Dave said: “It’s an absolute honour to join Chameleon full time, it’s been a goal of mine ever since my apprenticeship. I’ve been working freelance with Chameleon for over five years both performing and teaching, which has been so transformative for me, I feel very at home and grounded here so I’m really thrilled to now be full time with such an amazing team of people.
It’s a really exciting time for Chameleon as it continues to grow and I feel really privileged to get to see that first hand and be a part of it’s journey on a permanent basis.”
Leanne Feeley, General Manager, said: “Dave is a hugely talented dancer and it’s been a privilege to see him grow as a performer and as teacher over the last few years. He is also positive, hardworking and committed, and I’m delighted he’ll be part of the Chameleon team in the next phase of the Company’s development.”
