Going live with The Saturday Sessions!
1 March 2021Unique movement for young people! The Saturday Sessions are going live.
On every Saturday in March, we’re super excited to be inviting young people, age 10-16, to discover our unique movement style in a new series of FREE online classes.
Live from our studio in Openshaw, Manchester, classes will be broadcast via zoom and offer the perfect way to start the weekend!
The fun, physical and interactive sessions will be co-led by Saturday Sessions’ regular, Amber Calland, and new guest dance artist, Dom Coffey.
Amber, is one the stars of North West youth dance provision. Here at Chameleon, she is our Dance Development Artist, developing our regional dance activity for young people. In the past year, she has taught dance in over 30 schools across Manchester!
Dom found his interest in dance whilst at Chorlton High School, which led to him to later study at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance in Leeds. He has performed professionally with companies across the UK and internationally, and he is currently an Educational Facilitator for the critically acclaimed Jasmin Vardimon.
Designed for young people, age 10 to 16, each week of The Saturday Sessions will follow a different theme and offer a chance for young people to develop their dance technique and explore their creativity through dance.
Learning & Participation Manager, Sam Broadbent, says: “We’re delighted to be taking the Saturday Sessions online, live from the studio, for the month of March! It’s been a challenging year and we have really missed working with young people from our home studio in Manchester.
Whilst we’re not fully back to normal, we hope this is an important step in providing young people with the opportunity to reconnect with the Company and to remind them of the joy that dance and creativity can bring.
The Saturday Sessions will be led by Amber Calland, Dance Development Artist for Company Chameleon and Dom Coffey, a Dance Artist from Manchester who brings his global performance experience to the team.
If you’re age 10-16, join Amber and Dom who together, will guide you through this physical and interactive series of dance classes packed with fun creativity and unique movement!.”

Please note: Once you have booked your place via Eventbrite, you will receive a zoom link the night before the class (check your junk email if there is no communication in your inbox). Class bookings close at 6pm the Friday night before.
