6 May 2022Chameleon is excited to launch Creative Movement, our new dance class for adults.
A chance to re-connect with your mind and body through movement, the class is an opportunity to enjoy the many benefits of dance.
“The class is a way to get fit, have fun and feel good.” said our Co-Artistic Director, Kevin. “At Chameleon, we believe people of all ages should have the opportunity to move and be creative. This is what’s driving our vision to develop a dance hub in Openshaw, which is packed with possibilities for everyone.”
An exciting new addition to our growing class programme at our home studio, classes will draw from Chameleon’s original movement style and a rich mix of dance influences.
Learning & Participation Officer, Amber said, “It’s so exciting to build on our current programme with this class. Chameleon’s dance style is really creative. People are often surprised by what they see. Our movement style breaks with traditional perceptions around dance. An approach we carry through to our classes, which means they’re accessible to everyone.”
Suitable for all levels of experience, classes are taught by Manchester-based Kema Ekpei, who has 20 years-experience as a dancer and educator. They offer a safe space for self-expression and dance in a style, where there is no right and wrong.
Kevin said, “The classes are a great way to unwind, try something new and meet new friends. Maybe you danced when you were younger and you’d like to reconnect with dance. Maybe you fancy trying a dance class for the first time. Whatever your reason or level of experience, we’d love to see you there.”
