SHESOMADANCE

SheSomaDance is a female-led collective created by Maea Morgan and Lucy Halfpenny, who bonded during their time with Emergence, the postgraduate dance company of Joss Arnott and Salford University.

Together they discovered an interest in authentic female identity. Through their work, they aim to empower and contribute to a vibrant community of female artists by exploring women’s relationships, sensitivity, strength, self-expression and explosiveness.

Each artist will be in residence at Company Chameleon for three weeks this Autumn.

The artists will create, adapt and develop dance works with the support of Chameleon’s Creative team, including choreographic mentoring with Co-Artistic Director, Anthony Missen.

Following on, artists will meet, connect and present their work at our Scratch Night in November.

We look forward to working with our UPLIFT artists to develop their creative practice this Autumn.

Look out on social for more UPLIFT news including updates, pics and vids from the studio.

Chameleon is committed to raising the bar for dance in the North West and supporting dance artists with different voices, histories and stories. UPLIFT is part of a new programme, which demonstrates this commitment.
