Want to help develop one of the UK’s most exciting dance companies?

Company Chameleon are looking for a new Chair and Board Members to be part of our governing body and help steer our future.

As we move towards and celebrate Chameleon’s 20th anniversary, we have ambitious plans and we’re keen to continue growing.

As part of our Board, you will act as an inspirational and influential advocate to help steer our future, contributing to the next phase of development with your knowledge and experience.

Along with an interest in dance and the arts, you will have:

  • An understanding of governance and good practice in the non-profit sector
  • A strong commitment to promoting diversity
  • A strong commitment to the mission of Company Chameleon
  • Relevant experience and expertise in a particular field or practice

We’re particularly interested in hearing from prospective members who can bring new skills, knowledge and contacts to Company Chameleon, with experience in areas such as engagement, production, business and the commercial sector.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a company that consistently pushes the boundaries of movement to connect and empower people through dance.

Our back story is an inspiring and unique one. Our co-founders, Kevin Edward Turner and Anthony Missen, are two ordinary lads from Manchester who met when they were young and shared an ambition to dance professionally for a living.

In the early 1990s, they developed their talent at Trafford Youth Dance Theatre, and both went on to train at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance. After graduating, they travelled the globe working with some of the most innovative dance companies and choreographers in the industry.

They came home to Manchester in 2007 with the aim of setting up their own dance company, and Company Chameleon was born.

Today, Company Chameleon tours internationally, staging over 50 indoor and outdoor performances every year. The company has grown from a team of two to a team of fourteen and is now based at its own dance studio in Openshaw, Manchester.

Alongside growing our national and international performance programme, the next phase of our development is focused on developing our studio in Openshaw as a North West dance hub packed with possibilities for everyone.

If you’d like to contribute to the next phase of our development and help steer our future, we’d love to hear from you.  For full information about the opportunity, please download the:
