Support for a thriving dance career

17 February 2025

Beyond the Studio, our event series helping dancers to carve out their career with confidence, continues in March with a workshop with the friendly team from Dancers’ Career Development (DCD) and One Dance UK.

In this session, you will learn how these two incredible organisations can support you in your dance career!

One Dance UK will introduce their new Wellbeing Package and its many benefits to dancers including counselling, private GP, and financial advice. They’ll also answer any questions you may have about joining their membership.

DCD will talk to you about the support they offer to dancers, which includes professional development, retraining grants and mentorship.

There will also be practical coaching exercises as part of the session to explore your transferable skills, strengths and values, and to help you to think holistically about your career trajectory and plan for the future with excitement and confidence.

Dancers’ Career Development tell us more about what they do…

“DCD are here for every professional dancer, working across the UK, in every dance genre. We offer career development support from vocational training through to the end of a dancer’s performance career.

We are ambitious for dancers’ futures. We firmly believe in the power and potential of dancers to excel in any role or profession they choose to pursue at the end of their performance career. Through a bespoke programme of personal and professional development programmes, retraining grants, coaching and mentoring, we remove barriers to career progression and support dancers to prepare for and move into new roles both within and beyond dance.”
