Chameleon Presents: UPLIFT 2025

28 October 2025

Join us in our studio on Friday 21 November for a programme of new work by some of the North West’s most exciting Dance Makers.

We’re proud to present two exciting new works-in-progress from this year’s UPLIFT artists, Matthew & Bren and Hui Hsin & Hui Jing. Plus, a very special performance from previous UPLIFT artist, Jordan Sheard.

This Autumn, Matthew & Bren and Hui Hsin & Hui Jing have been in residence at Company Chameleon experimenting, creating and making new work with the support of Chameleon’s creative team. The performance on Friday 21 November is a chance to see what they’ve been up to and feedback on their creations so far!

The programme includes:

Matthew & Bren –
THREE-WHEELER
Matthew & Bren describe their new performance as a “A triptych of silent movies. Extracting motifs from cinema of the early 20th century.”

Hui Hsin & Hui Jing –
Working title to be announced

Using fluorescent costumes and shifting light, this is a dance piece that plays with what can be seen and what can’t be seen. Expect the unexpected as the body becomes expressive and ridiculous, twisting and reshaping itself under observation.

Jordan Sheard –
The Joy of Kissing (extract)
The Joy of Kissing is a tender and cheeky celebration of love and all the people we hold close. Blending dance theatre, storytelling and comedy, Jordan invites you into a playful duet that journeys through the small moments of care that shape our relationships.

From first kisses, to kiss-it-betters, or the kiss at the end of a text, The Joy of Kissing takes an honest and nostalgic look at our need to connect. For anyone who’s ever loved, longed, or kissed!
