Company Chameleon is proud to be part of Manchester’s Cultural Partnership Portfolio for 2026–2029, and to fly the flag for dance in the city as the only professional international dance company in the portfolio.
As one of 14 organisations selected, the largest portfolio to date, Company Chameleon is delighted to be returning to the programme, continuing its long-standing contribution to Manchester’s cultural landscape.
“I grew up in this city, Chameleon was born in this city and the Company is proud to continue to grow in the city.” says Artistic Director, Kevin Edward Turner MBE.
“For nearly 20 years, Chameleon has made dance productions in Manchester, which have toured across the world. From Germany to Colombia, from Belgium to Japan, we fly the flag for Manchester everywhere we go, sparking meaningful conversations through the themes explored in our performances and introducing people to a different side of dance and movement through our accessible workshops, classes and community co-creation.
Words cannot describe how much Chameleon values being part of the fabric that makes Manchester culturally rich for everyone who lives and visits here. For that reason, we are proud and honoured to be part of Manchester’s cultural portfolio for the next three years and we will, as always, honour our place by working hard, taking dance to the people and into communities, and making a positive difference through the power of movement.”
Manchester City Council has awarded over £1.24 million in funding to support arts and cultural organisations across the city over the next three years, through its Cultural Partnership Grants programme.
Leanne Feeley, Executive Director, says, “This funding provides vital long-term stability, enabling organisations to plan ahead and continue delivering high-quality, life-enhancing creative work for communities across the city. For Company Chameleon, the support will help us to connect locally across the city and strengthen our connections with communities.”
The funding aligns with Manchester’s cultural strategy, Always, Everywhere: Manchester’s Cultural Ambition, reinforcing the city’s commitment to making culture accessible to all.
Company Chameleon is excited to start the three year programme and looks forward to connecting people across Manchester through dance and movement as part of our work and commitment to the programme.
