We’re proud to announce JP Hon, Katherine Hollinson, and Gone Rogue as our UPLIFT 2026 artists. This continues our Artist Development programme for dance makers in the North West of England.
JP, Katherine, and Gone Rogue, will be in residence for four weeks at Company Chameleon this Autumn.
Working from our studio, the artists will focus on developing their choreographic talent and creating a new performance piece, supported and mentored by Chameleon’s creative team.
Our UPLIFT artists will then showcase and perform their new work at our November platform event on Saturday 21 November at Company Chameleon in Openshaw (tickets to be announced).
JP (she/her) is a Hong Kong-born dance artist based in Manchester. In 2022, she relocated to the UK to further develop her career as an international dance artist. Since then, she’s toured and collaborated with renowned artists and companies, including Company Chameleon, Marina Abramovivić, Blenard Azizaj, WomanEer and Mickael “Marso” Riviere, among others.
Katherine Hollinson (she/her) is a Manchester-based performer, maker, and facilitator working across dance, live performance and participatory projects. In 2018, Katherine moved back to Manchester to have her first child. Parenthood, and the effects of the pandemic, accelerated a shift in her practice towards work that is playful, co-created and rooted in community.
Gone Rogue is a queer anonymous collective. Their work centres around stories of non- or partially-disclosed queerness, drawing from lived experience and conversations with communities to create dance – telling felt, real stories of queer lives. Gone Rogue has been supported by Word of Warning, Company of Other, Queer East Festival and The Old Courts.
Our recently appointed UPLIFT Producer, Jordan Sheard, who was an UPLIFT artist herself in 2023, shares her thoughts:
“UPLIFT was such a springboard for me as an artist, so it feels really special to be part of creating that space for our 2026 dance makers. I’m excited to bring the same warmth, care and openness that I felt during my own residency, to support our UPLIFT artists as they bring their ideas to life. I just know our scratch night is going to be a really exciting evening of new dance!”
UPLIFT demonstrates Company Chameleon’s commitment to raising the bar for dance in the region where we live, and supporting dance artists with different voices, histories and stories to flourish and grow. We’re excited to support this year’s UPLIFT artists and we’re looking forward to working with them this Autumn!
