Come and join our Chameleon Youth Open Class
10 September 2026Join us for our new offer: Chameleon Youth Open Class for ages 10-15yrs.
We’re pleased to have launched Chameleon Youth Open Class for any young person (aged 10-15 yrs) who’s keen to develop their understanding of contemporary and creative dance, whilst delving into the Chameleon style!
We invite you to come along for this fun and physical dance session, explore your creativity, and meet other young people keen to grow their dance experience. No experience is necessary, just an interest in and passion to learn about all things contemporary.
Our Dance & Health Artist, Erin Pollitt will lead the sessions. She says, “It’s a pleasure to announce this brand new drop in offer from Company Chameleon. The sessions will provide some of the skills needed for young dancers to feel able and prepared to audition for our flagship youth company, Chameleon Youth.
“The nature of the drop in offer allows this to be open to a range of young people, from different backgrounds and different levels of commitment. Whether you want to be a part of the youth company in the future, or just want to pop along and see what we do here, this class will accommodate all!”
The sessions will include warm up and movement games, followed by:
Drills – foundational movements that we use throughout the company from Youth to Professional, predominantly floor-based to build upper and lower body strength.
Phrase learning – longer sequences, putting together movements practiced in the drills.
Creative tasks – a chance to create your own movement in a group or on your own based on different starting points for inspiration.
Sessions run every Monday from 5.15-6.15pm at Company Chameleon, 6 Barrass Street, Openshaw, Manchester, M11 1PU, and cost £3 per session.
These are drop-in sessions, so you’re welcome to join whenever suits you, on an ongoing basis. Just bring comfortable clothing and a water bottle.
